Afterschool Program
The YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina Afterschool Program provides a safe, nurturing environment where kindergarten through high school students can learn, grow, and thrive. Operating from school dismissal until 6:00 PM across Brunswick, New Hanover, Pender, and Sampson counties, our program is designed to keep youth active and connected in a space where they truly belong. Every afternoon, students have the opportunity to build lasting friendships, stay energized through sports and outdoor play, and engage in creative team building and arts and crafts—all while enjoying a daily healthy snack. We seamlessly balance physical activity and fun with academic support by providing 30 minutes of structured homework help each day. To keep students inspired and discovering new interests, the YMCA also offers unique, site-based quarterly clubs that focus on diverse talents like sports, arts, reading, math, writing, and community service.
