The YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina Preschool Program provides a half-day, play-based learning environment designed to help children learn, grow, and thrive. Tailored for children ages 3–5 (who are fully potty trained), our program builds self-esteem, sparks creativity, and prepares our youngest learners for kindergarten in a space where they truly belong. Using a hands-on curriculum, ABC Jesus Loves Me, children develop early literacy, fine and gross motor skills, and positive social behaviors through a fun, structured daily routine. Every day is filled with active discovery, including: • Group Playtime & Music: Fostering communication, sharing, and lasting early friendships. • Creative Learning & Arts: Engaging activities focused on foundational letters, numbers, and shapes. • Active Movement & Swim: Incorporating physical exercise, gym games, and weekly swim lessons. • Storytime: Inspiring imagination and introducing meaningful character values. Locations & Hours Our preschool programs operate on a half-day schedule, Monday through Friday, across two convenient regional branches: • Nir Family YMCA (Wilmington) • Sampson County YMCA (Clinton) What to Bring The YMCA will provide a healthy morning snack. Families must pack a nutritious lunch each day, giving students a wonderful opportunity to practice eating and socializing with friends in a school-like setting.
